Lingerie Miami

THE EVENT:

On February 7, 2009 a new generation of philanthropy was born. Lingerie Miami was launched at the city's historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. It was the first couture lingerie show to come to the States, featuring three of the world’s most luxurious lingerie designers, who shared the runway together for the first time in history. A philanthropic brand was officially established to raise awareness and funding for empowering women out of poverty via microfinance initiatives.

“The Empowerment of Women is probably the most important element in creating a better world.” Deepak Chopra

Hosted by actress Eva Longoria Parker and co-hosted by super model Veronica Webb, with a key-note speech by world renowned author and philosopher Deepak Chopra, Lingerie Miami’s inaugural event raised funds which will be invested in projects to assist women living on under a dollar a day in Brazil and Mexico.

“Being sexy is empowering, so coupling lingerie with charity is a perfect match.” Eva Longoria Parker

THE DESIGNERS:

Lingerie Miami and subsequent fundraising events, Lingerie New York, Lingerie L.A. and Lingerie Las Vegas, will act as the fundraising arm for the 7Bar Foundation, with each event creating a platform for merchandise. Lingerie Miami is built on a business model for social impact.
